Small consulting firm, in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1989. We handle an active client base averaging 54 clients at any given time. We consult on general urban forestry and arboriculture matters, and fire management planning. We have clients at all levels of government (federal, state, county, and local) and private property owners. The new position is a starting position for a person with a strong educational background in forest sciences and urban forestry class work desirable. Experience in arboriculture work is also desirable. The applicant will need good computer, language and people skills as they will have a lot of public/client contact and will be producing reports. This is a full time position with medical benefits and will pay in the range of $30,000.00 to $40,000.00 per year. Back to Top Posted: Jun 6, 2008 Job closing date: Oct 15, 2008 Urban Forest Ecologist Professor Hofstra University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, assistant professor position in the Department of Biology. The successful candidate will be qualified to teach plant biology, ecology/evolution and ideally one other of the following subject areas: plant ecology, plant pathology, mycology, or phycology. The successful candidate should be able to teach courses at a variety of levels, i.e. non-majors, undergraduate majors, Master's. Faculty in Biology must maintain an active and productive research program accessible to both undergraduate and master's research students. The specific areas of research are open, however preference will be given to candidates whose research involves urban habitats and who can participate actively in our nascent Urban Ecology program. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a
relevant discipline, experience in course development and design, and
demonstrated teaching ability. An interest in and/or experience with
innovative teaching techniques is desirable. Post-doctoral experience
is preferred. Interested individuals should: (1) submit a curriculum
vitae (indicating specific teaching experience, (2) statement of
research interests, (3) statement of teaching experience, interests
and
